Ethos receives the Gold Employer Recognition Award
Ethos Fundraising for SSAFA’s Birthday On Thursday, 29th September, Barry Matthews, CEO and Joel Sapiro, Major Accounts Director at Ethos attended the Armed Forces Employer Recognition Awards, where Ethos was presented with the prestigious Gold Award. Representing the highest badge of honour, the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award identifies businesses that employ and support those who serve veterans and their families. A total of 156 organisations were recognised this year, with 51 in the Greater London Region. Ethos was immensely proud to form part of the 51 businesses within their region who pledge their continued support for our Armed Forces and its wider community. The awards recognise the outstanding support for our Armed Forces from UK-wide employers. Part of that support is providing ten extra paid days leave for reservists and cadet force adult volunteers, in addition to supportive HR policies for veterans, reserves, cadet force adult volunteers and spouses and partners of those serving in the Armed Forces. In addition to supporting operational policies, Ethos advocates the benefits of the Employer Recognition Scheme and actively encourages customers and partners to sign the Armed Forces Covenant and pledge their support. Ian Gorman, Field Service Engineer and Cadet Force Adult Volunteer, comments, “It was a very special evening at the Old College Sandhurst military college. Many dignitaries from the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire, Mr James Huxley, to the High Sheriff of Berkshire and Brigadier 11 Brigade Armed Forces South East. It made me a very proud person to achieve such an award, and on the same day, Ethos received the Gold Award. To have the company be involved in a special organisation and to achieve this prestigious merit is a truly great day for both of us.” Barry Matthews, CEO, Ethos, continues, “Supporting our Armed Forces and its wider community is at the core of our business operations. Receiving the Gold Employer Award was nothing short of an honour and a proud moment for our team, who have worked tirelessly to implement policies to ensure our continued support. Receiving the award was a testament to our commitment as an employer and we will continue to support our Armed Forces personnel, as well promote the fantastic work of the Covenant and the Employer Recognition Scheme to like-minded businesses.” For more information on the Employer Recognition Scheme, please visit the Government website here.
